28 million reasons to vote NO for the Referendum for Spending on April 5th.
Some don’t realize the level of funding we have given the Oshkosh Area School District
It is rather eye opening. From 2009 to 2014 OASD has received $83.4 million through
Referendum and Energy Efficiency Bonds. That is above what they get from regular
Taxes and the many grants they receive. Here is the list:
2009 Maintenance Referendum $6.5 million
2012 Oaklawn School Referendum $12.9 million
2012 Energy Efficiency law enacted for $21.5 million (no referendum)
2014 Technology Referendum for $28 million
2015 Energy Efficiency law enacted for $14.5 million (no referendum)
Over those 6 years OASD has received A LOT of extra money. That is $13.9 million extra each year over the, already large, tax levy. Yet they still want more…
Another $28 million… sigh…
FYI: The Energy Efficiency law was passed by the state in 2012 to allow school districts to cover deferred maintenance projects. The Oshkosh School Board can approve this tax increase without voter input. NO referendum is needed but we still pay.
