Sorry? Is that all you more taxes for folks can say? $7 is for $100,000 home, so for most well over $100 and closer to $150 a year! That is my dental and vision health care for the year! 1.5 grocery trips, 3 less dinner dates with my wife, 6 less trips to the movie theatre, 10 game pack to the Timberrattlers gone, annual trip to Miller Park gone. 4 less gas tank fill-ups that means 4 less trips to visit my sick father. Less visits to the parks, 1 less day of our vacation, no annual checkup for our kitty, no new safety shoes for work, unless you seek for us to pile on more debt? Yeah that is always better! Plus trying to sell your home just got harder because when they see how property taxes went up, they will turn away. I say this because it was a determining factor when we bought our home. The issue is there is plenty of tax dollars already in the system. You realize we already pay like everybody else roughly 40% of our income to taxes and fees on ALL levels. Now you guys want us to pay even more? Instead of the weak leadership within the school district not fighting for that piece of what is already in the system, they give up and seek ANOTHER referendum to force the property owners to pay even more taxes! $100 to $150 could be most everybody’s raise they get from work for the year! Incompetent leadership within the school system is the issue here. Do not blame the Governor or Washington, blame yourselves for not even trying! Now the quality of life for the entire community has to be downgraded forever because of government bureaucracy!
